If you are experiencing blurred or misted vision, you could have cataracts
Cataracts are a very common visual problem that naturally occurs with age. The condition occurs when the lens of the eye gradually becomes less transparent, therefore letting less light into the eye.
The onset of cataracts is characterised by clouded or misted vision, but there are other symptoms to look out for, such as:
Finding it more difficult to see in dim or very bright light
Glare from bright lights is much more uncomfortable to look at
Faded colours
A yellow or brown tinge to your vision
Double vision
Seeing a halo around bright lights, such as car headlights or street lights
Your glasses don’t feel like they are working properly
However, cataracts are not painful, which means that often people do not realise that they are developing this condition.
If you have any of the symptoms listed above, we would urge you to come and see one of our experienced opticians. They will happily examine your eyes to see if you are suffering from cataracts and then come up with a bespoke plan of action for your personal situation.
